It was near sunset when I noticed these railway vehicles from a footbridge
that spans part of Ulm's marshalling yard.
|
On my first visit to Sweden, I went to Malmö's Central station.
Seen from a platform, far out, the rails seemed to intersect endlessly.
|
Our travel party had split up and taken different ferries.
I had been on the earlier one and while waiting,
I explored the railway station and its environment.

When I visited Madeira's north coast, I went for a walk on the old north coastal road
(Antiga E.R. 101) that was closed to the traffic around 2002.
I visited the old tunnel through that leads through a section under a waterfall
(see also the related picture).

The U.S. state of Michigan comprises two areas of land that separated by the straits of Mackinac,
that connect Lake Michigan and Lake Huron.
The straits itself are spanned by the impressive Mackinac Bridge.

After having visited Dawson City, we headed toward Inuvik on the Dempster Highway
that is only a gravel road for hundreds of kilometers. During a break,
I tried to catch the remoteness of the road with the camera.
